| The
pub takes its names from the six bells at the church alongside
the pub. It has been a feature of the lower end of town since
1670 when it was a coaching inn on one of the main roads from
London to Mid Wales. It is a grade II listed building dating
mainly from the 18th century. We have recently been renovating
parts of the building and have uncovered fireplaces, stone and
timberwork and installed new woodburning stoves. |

The Six Bells is proud
to be a sponsor of the annual Bishop's Castle Real Ale Festival
