The Bishop's Castle Railway was never a viable
enterprise, and was dubbed the 'Fairyland Railway' by the
Daily Mail in 1931, just three years before its closure.
This recording, originally made in 1999, and released on
CD in
2005, features
a 52-minute
documentary
followed by the Bishop's Castle Railway Suite in five movements.
The CD is produced by the Fairyland Group with financial
assistance from The Arts Council of England, A4E Express,
Shropshire
County Council Arts Services, South Shropshire District Council,
Rural Challenge Community Chest and Rural Arts in Action.
Copies of the CD can be obtained from various local shops
